Glossary
This glossary defines the shared vocabulary used across Commercial Aquatics apps, Salesforce workflows, proposal generation, and catalog administration. It exists because the same word can mean different things in Salesforce, the inspection app, and local operations; consistent definitions reduce mistakes when users discuss mappings, pricebooks, divisions, branches, and proposal states.
Term model
Business term ── maps to ── app behavior
App behavior ── often depends on ── Salesforce object or field
Salesforce object ── controls ── customer, product, pricebook, or proposal stateBranch
A Salesforce/account operating branch. In most pricing workflows, branch is context, while the division pricebook is the pricing authority.
Division
The operational grouping used for access, catalog mapping, form visibility, and pricebook behavior.
Expert Mode
Level 4+ proposal construction flow that starts from a division/customer/pricebook instead of a completed field inspection.
Inspection Item
An app-level form item that may map to a Salesforce Product2. Some items are global; others are division-specific or branch-specific overrides.
Pricebook Entry
The Salesforce PricebookEntry record that makes a Product2 active and priced inside a specific pricebook.
Product Mapping
The app-maintained relationship between an inspection item and a Salesforce Product2 record.
SaleID
Salesforce-generated identifier on an Opportunity. It should appear on customer proposals where traceability is required.
